Man Arrested in Robbery at Bank
A man suspected by the FBI in a series of bank robberies in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties was arrested after allegedly robbing a California Federal branch Monday morning in Simi Valley.
Terrance Ball, 57, was arrested near the Collins Road exit of the Ronald Reagan Freeway shortly after the robbery.
The heist occurred about 11 a.m. when a man walked into the bank branch in the 2000 block of Cochran Street with a handgun and told the patrons to lie on the floor.
He then took an unspecified amount of money from the bank’s tellers, said Lt. Tim Rein ofthe Simi Valley Police Department.
On the way to his car, the man snatched a woman’s purse, which drew the attention of a passerby who flagged down a police officer, Rein said.
The suspect pointed a gun at the officer, who rammed his police car into Ball’s Ford Taurus, Rein said.
Ball drove away, but was stopped in Moorpark.
Ball is being held on suspicion of bank robbery, Rein said.
