Alfred E. Mann, who blazed trails in both medicine and business with the development of a cardiac pacemaker in the 1970s and has since built biomedical company MiniMed Inc., on Thursday will discuss the potential for Southern California to become a hub for the biotech industry. Mann will also talk about the prospects for future business applications arising from current research.
