La Habra optometrist Lisa M. Shimada will provide free vision screenings to any child residing in the Brea/La Habra/Whittier area until Oct. 30 as part of Vision Days, a national program.
Vision Days, sponsored by Fisher-Price, promotes improved vision care for children. The American Foundation for Vision Awareness indicates that one out of four school-aged children has vision problems that affect academic performance. Shimada has been involved in the program the last two years. Shimada’s office is at 601 E. Whittier Blvd. To schedule a vision screening appointment, call (562) 691-2999.
