Bookworms will soon enjoy several new additions to the San Clemente Library made possible by a healthy budget allotment from the Orange County Public Library system that officials say will boost the library’s level of service.
This year’s budget of nearly $488,000 exceeds the facility’s operating expenses by more than $125,000 and will enable the library to hire personnel, bring staffing back to the level that was deemed appropriate before 1993, buy books and study expansion possibilities.
City Librarian Heather Pizzuto said the library will add nearly 40 working hours for the existing personnel, as well as hire a new staffer who will specialize in children’s services and technology.
