Arco Tests New Diesel, Seeking Less Pollution
Atlantic Richfield Co. began a fleet demonstration program of its new experimental diesel fuel that the Los Angeles-based oil company hopes will make dramatic reductions in air pollutants from trucks, buses and cars. Included in the program are Los Angeles city refuse and street maintenance trucks, Santa Monica buses, Ralphs Grocery tractor-trailer trucks, some Hertz pickups, San Diego school district buses and Arco gasoline tanker trucks.
