Forgive coaches Troy Starr of Taft and Jim Bonds of Alemany if they are slightly distracted this week.
Starr plans to board a flight next Friday night after the Toreadors play El Camino Real and head for Alliance, Ohio, to watch his alma mater Mount Union try to set an NCAA record for most consecutive victories by a football team.
Bonds is staying closer to home but his anticipation is just as intense. He has opening night tickets to see Bruce Springsteen Oct. 17 at the Staples Center.
