*** The Derailers, “Full Western Dress,” Sire. Songs by this Austin group’s founders, Tony Villanueva and Brian Hofeldt--working with each other and a wagonload of collaborators--recall not just the classic country of Buck Owens (who joins the band on one tune) and Johnny Cash, but also the pioneering rock of Elvis, Roy Orbison and the Beatles. If the approach is stylistically scattershot at times, their unfettered joy and Dave Alvin’s always in-tune production work make a pretty effective glue. The group plays Oct. 30 at the Crazy Horse Steak House and Oct. 31 at the Culver Saloon.
