Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, in conjunction with the Department of Health, will give free hepatitis B shots to children up to age 18.
A new state law requires that children entering kindergarten and the seventh grade be immunized against the often fatal liver disease starting this school year. Health officials recommend that everyone from newborns to older adults be immunized.
Vaccinations for mumps, measles and rubella, which are required for school attendance, also will be given at no cost.
