Chargers in No Rush

Share

The San Diego Chargers have given up only 2.7 yards per rush, lowest in the NFL and a major reason the Chargers are 3-1 and headed for a division showdown against the Seattle Seahawks, also 3-1, Sunday at San Diego.

“That’s where it starts, with stopping the run,” Charger defensive coordinator Joe Pascale said. “A team thinks they’re going to run the ball, and they can’t run the ball. Eventually you get them where you want them, and you can blitz and make some plays.”

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are not discounting the Charger offense, which has been slow to develop behind veteran quarterbacks Jim Harbaugh and Erik Kramer as Ryan Leaf sits out.

“This team right here is scary,” Seahawk cornerback Willie Williams said of the Chargers. “You never know when they’re going to click.”
