Lung Assn. Offers Program for Schools
The American Lung Assn. has launched a new program to help schools improve indoor air quality for children.
The program involves a free kit that includes a booklet, video and checklist to help identify potential problem areas.
Donna Pearson, manager for the American Lung Assn. of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, said 50% of California schools have problems with indoor air quality that cause a range of problems, including asthma.
“This program will offer hints and places for improvement,” Pearson said.
Interested school officials can call Pearson at 963-1426 to set up a training session or arrange for guest speakers from the Environmental Protection Agency.
