Medjugorje Peace Conference Will Honor Virgin Mary

Share

About 5,000 devotees of the Virgin Mary are expected to gather for two days at the Bren Events Center in Irvine for the Medjugorje Peace Conference to honor the mother of Jesus.

The 10-year-old annual conference is named for one of the most well-known apparition sites in what is now Bosnia-Herzegovina, where six children in 1981 claimed to see and talk to the Virgin Mary. Since then, an estimated 15 million people have made the pilgrimage up Podbrdo Hill in Medjugorje, hoping to experience a miracle.

The conference will feature religious services, confession opportunities, inspirational speeches, healing services and testimonials from people who have been to Medjugorje and claim to have experienced the mercy of Mary.

Among those appearing will be one of the most well-known of the visionaries, Ivan Dragicevic. He is one of the children who is said to have seen Mary at Medjugorje and travels the world spreading her words of world peace.
