The talk radio station that gives Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani a weekly show is offering First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton her own chance to take calls from New Yorkers, the Daily News reported Saturday.

“She wants to do her listening tour. What better way to listen?” said Phil Boyce, program director for WABC-AM. “And she would be able to talk to 150,000 people at a time.”

Aides to the potential Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from New York said the idea hadn’t been ruled out. Howard Wolfson, a spokesman for her Senate exploratory campaign, said he looked forward to talking with Boyce.

Should she accept the show, Mrs. Clinton would join a largely conservative program lineup, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge and Curtis Sliwa. Also on WABC is Giuliani, who will likely pursue the Republican nomination for the seat being vacated next year by Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat.

The hourlong call-in program would be run the same way as the mayor’s Friday morning show, with calls screened by WABC staffers, said Boyce.

Equal air time would be required, under federal law, only after the two candidates had been nominated by their parties.
