The California State Board of Education appointed Tustin education law attorney Veronica Norris to the Curriculum Development and Supplemental Materials Commission this month, which recommends to the state board the adoption of minimum standards for courses of study in preschool, kindergarten, elementary and secondary schools.

The 18-member commission also assists the state board in the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Norris, who is a member of the Orange Unified School District’s academic advisory committee, said she is excited about the position.

“It’s an opportunity to assist the state in moving forward on its implementation of the academic content standards,” she said.
