Superior Courts Launch Web Site
The Ventura County Superior Court has created a Web site that will soon allow people to pay traffic tickets and research cases online.
The new site--https://www.ventura.org.courts--was unveiled earlier this month.
Currently, it provides general information about the courts, such as fee amounts, directions and telephone numbers. A “frequently asked questions” section answers inquiries about divorce, adoption and traffic cases, as well as jury service.
In coming weeks, court officials say, the site will also allow local residents to electronically file civil actions and check the status of civil, family law and criminal cases by logging onto the records database online.
Other areas that are still being developed include credit-card transactions for the payment of traffic tickets, and a “virtual courtroom” aimed at educating the public about how the courts operate.
