Thanks to a $199,250 county grant, a vehicle will soon be headed for five Fullerton schools to connect parents with information about social services.

The program, Project Fullerton’s Future: United for Success, is a partnership between the Fullerton School District, the YMCA of Orange County and the Children’s Bureau of Southern California. The groups hope to launch the service by December, said Ellen Fisher, coordinator of child welfare and attendance for the school district.

The vehicle, which will be either a retrofitted school bus or a van with a trailer attached, will be staffed by a licensed, bilingual case manager who will meet with families on a walk-in basis to discuss their needs.
