The Recreation and Park District will be celebrating its 50th anniversary Saturday with a 1950s-style sock-hop party. Games will include a pie-eating contest and chewing-gum, bubble-blowing contest. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cypress Community Center, 5700 Orange Ave.
