A Festival to Cherish
I wanted to thank you for the coverage of the World Festival of Sacred Music and to tell you that this event is simply one of the best events to happen in Los Angeles. It makes you look forward to the millennium with all its possibilities of people-to-people communication.
The truly amazing thing about this event is the spirit. It is unself-consciously joyful . . . and intelligent. It has a grass-roots feel without attempting to be grass-roots. It just is.
It gives a real sense of our shrinking world and, at the same time, our expanding universe. Sometimes with the dominance of news about politics and corporate commerce and even surfing the Internet, while the world seems small, it feels impersonal. With this event, the world seems small and very personal.
