Area Leaders Named to County Panels

Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky this week appointed three community leaders to various county commissions, officials said.
Tony J. Lucente, president of the Studio City Residents Assn., was reappointed to the Citizens’ Economy and Efficiency Commission.
The panel is charged with formulating recommendations to the full Board of Supervisors regarding improved delivery of county services.
Yaroslavsky also named James B. Henderson, mayor pro tem of Westlake Village, to the Local Government Services Commission.
Commission members’ duties include conducting an ongoing examination of intergovernmental and jurisdictional alternatives to improve delivery of municipal services.
Additionally, Yaroslavsky reappointed Helen Levin of Sherman Oaks, executive director of the Assn. of Soviet Jewish Emigres, to the Consumer Affairs Advisory Commission.
The commission advises the county director of consumer affairs on consumer programs, legislation and other policy matters.
