The city’s blueprint for revitalizing the economy of the El Toro Road corridor recently was recognized as one of the best community development plans in the state.
The California League of Cities honored the city’s effort to involve residents and businesses in planning El Toro Road-area redevelopment last year.
The city held public workshops and planning contests to solicit community participation, city officials said.
Officials said they will use the community’s input to create specific El Toro Road redevelopment guidelines.
