* Jim Pal-mer has been appointed vice chairman of the Housing and Community Development Commission by the Orange County Board of Supervisors. He was also selected by Sheriff Mike Carona to serve as a member of the board of directors of the ScholarCare Program. Palmer is president of the Tustin-based Orange County Rescue Mission.

* Jerry Jones has been named vice president of sales and marketing for DisplayWorks, an Irvine custom trade show exhibit/display house. He has been with the company since 1994. In addition, Bernadette Shultz Morales has joined DisplayWorks as sales administrator. Previously, she was a trade show transportation specialist with Comtrans in Lake Forest.

* Tony Bruno has been named general manager of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim, scheduled to open in early 2001. Bruno was formerly general manager of the Disneyland Pacific Hotel. Before that, he was food and beverage director of the Disneyland Hotel.
