Stater Bros. Inc. said Thursday that all of the recently purchased Albertson’s and Lucky stores have now been reopened as Stater Bros. supermarkets.

The openings nearly double the Colton-based chain’s stores in Orange County.

Stater Bros. snapped up 14 Albertson’s and Lucky stores in the county when Albertson’s Inc. unloaded the stores to gain regulatory approval to buy Lucky’s parent, American Stores Co., in a $9.8-billion deal. In all, Stater Bros. bought 33 Albertson’s and 10 Lucky stores in the Southland.
