O.C. BUSINESS PLUS : ORANGE COUNTY BRIEFLY : Ingram, Sarcom Join in Logistics, Management

Ingram Micro Inc. said Tuesday that it has agreed to take on the logistics and management of most of Sarcom Inc.’s annual sales over the next five years. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The agreement also calls for Ingram, the Santa Ana-based distributor of computer products, to reduce Sarcom’s operating costs and will allow Sarcom to expand its customer-service capability.

Sarcom is a Columbus, Ohio, technology-integration company with annual sales of more than $700 million.

Ingram will assume responsibility for Sarcom’s distribution and integration center in Lewis, Ohio. Sarcom will continue to provide sales and project management.

Ingram Micro shares fell 12%, or $2.69, to $19.31 in trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
