Nation IN BRIEF / ARKANSAS : Couple Charged in Death of 2nd Boy

A couple were accused in a Little Rock, Ark., court of leaving their 18-month-old son to die in the wilderness, and are also suspected of tossing his 2 1/2-year-old brother to his death in a lake. The mother had told police in June that the children had been kidnapped by their father. Last week, however, the father told police that the couple abandoned their children in a ravine and a pond. Alex Ware, 33, and Chantilly Harrell, 21, of Memphis, Tenn., were charged with murder and jailed on $250,000 bail. They could face execution if convicted in the death of the younger boy, Alexander. Prosecutors said they are considering filing murder charges in the case of the older boy, K-Von, whose remains have not been found.
