The City Council voted to delay a public hearing regarding a permit for a new 3,050-foot Carl’s Jr. at the Brookhurst Plaza, 17155 Brookhurst St., until Oct. 5.
At that meeting, the council will consider an appeal of the Planning Commission’s decision to strike the fast-food restaurant’s three-level play area from the building plans before approving its permit. At the time of the vote, a majority of the planning commissioners said a play area did not fit Fountain Valley’s aesthetics or demographics.
