* Re “Griffith Park Site Favored for New Children’s Museum,” Aug. 16.

Why do they keep coming up with illogical locations for this museum? The proposed Riverside Drive site would certainly cause this busy area unending grief. Why can they not use one of the sturdy, large, unused buildings in the downtown area? They are discovering every day the terrific architecture and buildings meant to last and they are now being renovated.

The downtown area is more central and more easily accessed than anywhere else in the city, especially for the inner-city kids. There would not be the weekend gridlock that exists at Griffith Park’s entrance, and neither would there be a parking problem. The weekday hours of operation would start well after the morning work rush as well.
