Constelacion Agrupacion Teatral, a nonprofit Latino arts group, will perform a season-ending show Friday at the Van Nuys Recreation Center.

The show, “Noches De Talento Latino”--or Nights of Latin Talent--will feature graduates of the program’s class of 1999 performing popular Latino music, drama and comedy.

The musical portion will include impersonations of such famous Latino artists as Thalia, Luis Miguel and Ricky Martin. They will be followed by 15-minute drama and comedy skits.

“They will express the Latino culture,” said Ivan Olivares, president of Constelacion Agrupacion Teatral. “All Latinos will be able to relate.”

In all, about 30 students, including youngsters and adults, will participate. The class trained with the group’s volunteer instructors for five months.

“We want to give Latin people who don’t have the money to pay for acting school a chance,” Olivares said. “After we give them the chance to study and develop, we try to place them in acting jobs.”

Friday’s performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Van Nuys Recreation Center, 14301 Vanowen St. A donation of $5 per person is requested. For more information, call (818) 710-8492 or (818) 787-2005.
