Clemency

I noticed that the Sept. 15 story regarding the Senate’s 95-2 disapproval of Bill Clinton’s freeing the FALN terrorists rated Page 20 (just below the story on how Newt Gingrich and his wife are splitting their assets). On the front page, however, was the very newsworthy story of a Japanese human punching bag! Where has your editorial sense gone?

Clinton has once again shown that there is no limit to the depth that he will crawl to for political gain. Setting free 11 sworn enemies of our nation who killed and maimed our brothers and sisters is unconscionable. Clinton has corrupted and brought shame to every facet of his administration. He has sold out this nation at every opportunity. I have faith that time will bring all truth to bear and he will be forced to confront his true legacy: scandal, impropriety, dishonesty and truly un-American acts of treason.

When anyone (be it an Indian chief, a parent or the president’s wife) is able to forgive, both parties are consenting to grow. My hat goes off to the president for the clemency given to the Puerto Rican prisoners.
