Supporters of Measure B, a $95 annual property tax for the Irvine Unified School District that will appear on the November ballot, have launched a $40,000 mailing campaign to reach voters.

The Yes on B committee, an alliance of parents, teachers, businesspeople and other residents, sent letters to about 35,000 households in Irvine, asking residents to volunteer time and money.

The letter, dated Sept. 15, emphasized that all of the city’s residents would benefit from high property values if the district’s current standards could be retained.
