In a demonstration of their commercial clout in the booming Latin pop market, Southern California’s record buyers boosted the new Spanish-language album from Mexican superstar Luis Miguel, which debuted at only No. 36 nationally, into the Top 10 of the area’s sales chart. Another favorite son benefiting from his local following is Long Beach rapper Warren G, whose single tops the Southern California sales list while registering at No. 10 nationally.
