Shareholders OK Sale of Western Bancorp

Shareholders of Newport Beach-based Western Bancorp on Wednesday approved the company’s acquisition by U.S. Bancorp in Minneapolis. The transaction is expected to close in November.
Western Bancorp holders will receive 1.2915 U.S. Bancorp common shares for each Western Bancorp common share.
The deal is subject to other remaining conditions, including approval from the Office of the Comptroller of Currency.
