Alpha Microsystems Stock Up 14%

Alpha Microsystems’ stock climbed nearly 14% Friday after the Santa Ana manufacturer of information technology products said it received a patent for Internet software technology for retrieving, filtering and “re-purposing” data.
Shares of the company, which does business as AlphaServ.com, moved up $1 to $8.25 in Nasdaq trading.
The technology allows data to be converted from multiple formats, including Internet and text files, to common business applications, including databases, documents and spreadsheets.
