Concordia Taps Bachman to Head Theology School
The Rev. James Bachman, a noted scholar of religious and ethical issues in health care, has been named dean of Concordia University’s School of Theology.
Bachman, who joined the Irvine campus last fall, “has distinguished himself as a respected leader and a valued colleague,” university President Jack Preus said in a statement announcing the appointment this week.
Bachman formerly taught at Valparaiso University in Indiana, where he held the John R. Eckrich Chair in religion and the healing arts.
Concordia is a Christian liberal-arts university affiliated with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.
