And Down the Freeway at Fantasy, er, Edison . . .

The article chronicling Disney’s stewardship of the Angels [March 30] reads with the disaster-laden backdrop of the team itself. The missteps by management are a litany of novice-driven, shortsighted, “kiddie”-focused miscalculations that were (and are) made worse by Disney’s arrogance.

The main point to the piece, that Disney does not know baseball, strikes the target like a laser. Unfortunately for the few loyal fans of the team, me among them, the Angels will continue to languish until real baseball people take the reins and send Mickey packing.

No offense, Mike, but Roberto Clemente was not an above-average defensive player. In fact, many people, including myself, believe that he was the greatest defensive outfielder of all time. Since it is obvious you know little about baseball history, I thought I would help you out.

1. Sandy Koufax was not an above-average pitcher.

2. Jackie Robinson did not have above-average character.

3. The “Bambino” was not an above-average player.

P.S. The Bambino’s real name was Babe Ruth.
