TIMES STAFF AND WIRES

San Francisco has opened an extension of its F trolley line along Market Street. Instead of running only between Castro Street and the Transbay Terminal downtown, the line now continues past First Street to the waterfront Embarcadero, ending near Beach and Jones streets near Fisherman’s Wharf.

En route on the two-mile extension are views of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The line runs from about 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Fares are $1. Information: tel. (415) 673-6864.

Starting Saturday, the CityPass discount booklet for San Francisco will offer unlimited rides for seven days on San Francisco Municipal Railway public transit, including the tourist-thronged cable cars and the extended F line. The booklet, which on Saturday jumps from $27.75 to $33.25 for adults, also has tickets with up to 50% off for bay cruises, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and four other attractions. You can buy the passes at included attractions, on the Internet at https://www.citypass.net or through travel agents. For information, call (707) 256-0490.
