Beyond.com Ends Marketing Pacts

Beyond.com Corp., an Internet software retailer, said it ended marketing agreements with America Online Inc. and others and will have a first-quarter restructuring charge of as much as $14 million as it shifts from consumer to business and government sales. The company said in an annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will report a first-quarter restructuring charge of $11 million to $14 million. Ending the marketing contracts, designed to generate consumer sales, cost the company $5.8 million.

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Beyond.com builds and manages Web sites for businesses and sells software and computer-related products to the government, corporate and consumer markets. Shares in Beyond.com shares fell 25 cents to close at $3.25 on Nasdaq.
