PLACENTIA
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District has reached an agreement with the county Department of Education to keep a program for disabled students at George Key School. The decision will affect about 60 families from north Orange County, who had been notified earlier that they may need to seek a new place for their disabled children’s education.
The county has agreed to set up seven modular classrooms at the George Key campus to house the program. The district will lease the space for the portables to the county at a cost of $1 per year.
The new agreement will allow the Department of Education to continue its 16-year program at George Key, which serves students from more than 15 school districts in north Orange County.
