A federal grand jury indicted two U.S. residents, two Indonesians and a Russian on Thursday in an alleged scheme to distribute child pornography on the Internet.

U.S. Atty. Paul Coggins said the indictments were the first to “target foreign Web masters and their corrupt co-conspirators in the United States.”

The panel returned a total of 87 counts against the five, including charges of sexual exploitation of minors and distribution of child pornography.

Named in the indictments were Thomas Reedy, 37, and his wife, Janice Reedy, 31, both of Fort Worth; R.W. Kusuma and Hanny Ingganata, both of Indonesia; and Boris Greenberg of Russia.

The Reedys’ home-based business, Landslide Inc., also was indicted.

The Reedys were arrested Wednesday. The overseas residents are not in custody. Coggins said he would attempt to extradite them but would not say if authorities in Indonesia and Russia were cooperating.

Kusuma, Ingganata and Greenberg allegedly set up and ran the Web sites offering still pictures and video of children as young as 4 having sex with each other and adults, according to the text of the indictment.

“I cannot convey to you what is in those pictures, the horrors in those pictures. Young lives have been destroyed,” Coggins said.

The grand jury alleged that the Reedys acted as “gatekeepers,” with Landslide processing credit card payments and distributing passwords to U.S. customers who bought access to the Web sites for $29.95 a month.

Coggins said the Reedys had thousands of customers but declined to say whether prosecutors will pursue them.
