On the eve of a memorial service for a popular Sherman Oaks physician who died in a plane crash, friends of the family of William Lofton announced the creation of a trust fund to benefit his 11-year-old daughter’s education.
Lofton, who worked at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Panorama City, was killed April 11 when his private plane crashed in Fullerton. A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 17114 Ventura Blvd., Encino.
Ellen Tutsch, a longtime family friend, said people wishing to contribute to a trust fund for the Lofton family can mail checks to the Lofton Family, c/o Republic Bank California, N.A., 16311 Ventura Blvd., Encino, CA 91436, Attn: Haydeh. The fund will help pay for the education of Lofton’s daughter, Alessandra, Tutsch said.
