* Los Angeles-based Tarrant Apparel Group, a maker of private-label casual apparel, has acquired Needletex Inc., owner of the Jane Doe apparel brand. Terms were not disclosed. Los Angeles-based Needletex had $20 million in sales last year. Once the deal is complete, Tarrant will form a new company, Jane Doe International, which will be 51%-owned by Tarrant and 49%-owned by Needletex. The existing management team of Needletex will remain intact and will continue to manage development and operations.
