He’s Just a Sweet Homeowner in Trendy Los Feliz

British actor Tim Curry, a co-star in the upcoming “Charlie’s Angels: The Movie,” has purchased a Los Feliz home for about $1.4 million.

Curry, 54, made his movie debut as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (1975). He has played comically evil villains in “The Three Musketeers” (1993) and “Home Alone 2” (1992), and he co-starred in “The Addams Family Reunion” (1998) and “McHale’s Navy” (1997).

He played Mozart in the 1980 Broadway production of “Amadeus” and won a Daytime Emmy as Capt. Hook in the 1990-92 animated series “Fox’s Peter Pan and the Pirates.” He is also in the cast of the upcoming animated TV movie “Lion of Oz and the Badge of Courage.”

He bought a house with three bedrooms plus maid’s quarters. The restored Mediterranean-style home was built in the late 1920s. Curry has been living for several years in another Mediterranean-style home on two acres in the same area. He has had that home on the market at about $3.5 million.

He also bought a home in London and plans to spend time there and in L.A.

Fitness video star Kathy Smith, who has been promoting her 26th video, “Latin Rhythm Workout,” has sold her Brentwood home for about $2.2 million and moved to Santa Monica.

While teaching fitness classes in 1980, Smith started producing audiotapes, videos and books. Today, Smith, 48, owns and runs her own company, and her 26 videos have sold more than 11 million copies.

She sold her gated home with five bedrooms, an office and a gym in about 5,000 square feet. The home also has a pool and tennis court. The home was built in the 1930s but was refurbished after she bought it 10 years ago.

Damon Kronsberg with Coldwell Banker Previews, Brentwood, represented Smith in selling; Diane Duckett of Fred Sands Estates, Brentwood, represented the buyers.

Billy Brown, writer-producer and co-creator of the new Fox series “The Fearing Mind,” and his wife, choreographer and media artist Dara Paprock Brown, have purchased a Los Feliz home that was once owned by Marla Gibbs, who played Florence the maid on the sitcom “The Jeffersons” (1974-85).

The Browns bought the home for about its $699,000 asking price and sold their former home, in the Los Feliz Oaks area, for close to $488,000.

Billy Brown, a partner in Angel Brown Productions, also has written teleplays for the Goosebumps series on Fox, and he has written for “The X-Files.”

Rosemary Low and Allen Levoff of DBL, Los Feliz, represented the Browns in selling, and Levoff handled both sides of the Browns’ purchase. John Steiner with DBL, Sunset, represented the buyers of the Browns’ home.
