Waves’ 3-Game Winning Streak Ends in a Flash

The San Diego Flash ended the Waves’ three-game winning streak Saturday, winning an A-League soccer game, 2-0, at Santa Ana Stadium.

The Flash (3-1) scored both goals in the first half, led by Mauricio Alegre, who scored unassisted in the 16th minute.

Forward Maugurel Dimitru scored the second goal two minutes before the end of the half, stripping the ball from Wave goalie Peer Van de Ven and putting it in the net.

Van de Ven had five saves for the Waves (3-2), who beat the Flash, 3-0, on Friday in San Diego.

The Waves play the El Paso Patriots Saturday in El Paso.
