3DO Issues a Profit Warning

Video game software maker 3DO Co. warned that fourth-quarter results will be far below analyst forecasts of 38 cents because of weaker-than-expected sales. The company said it expects earnings of 22 to 25 cents a share on revenue of $45 million to $47 million. 3DO said it suffered from late shipment of a key title, “Army Men--World War,” for play on Sony Corp.’s PlayStation. 3DO shares closed down 13 cents at $7 on Nasdaq, before the company’s warning.
