Need2Buy Hires New Chief for Its Global Operations

Need2Buy.com in Westlake Village, a business-to-business online marketplace for the electronic components industry, has hired Jim Jefferies as president of the Electronics Worldwide division.

In this position, Jefferies will manage the global operations of Need2Buy’s electronic components marketplace.

“Jim’s knowledge of and relationships with key players in the electronic-components industry are unsurpassed,” said Maury S. Friedman, Need2Buy chairman and chief executive. “In addition, his global experience and solid track record in growing start-up operations into profitable and scalable organizations make Jim the perfect fit for Need2Buy.”

Before joining Need2Buy, Jefferies was vice president of worldwide marketing for Pioneer-Standard Electronics, a global distributor of electronic components with $3.4 billion in sales.

Before Pioneer-Standard, Jefferies was vice president of North American sales and marketing for Avnet Inc.’s Time Electronics division, where he had responsibility over all semiconductor and passive product sales and marketing.
