Franklin Telecom Selects Ericson as New President

Franklin Telecommunications in Westlake Village has promoted Philip G. Ericson to president of the company.

Ericson will continue in his assignment as chief operating officer as well. Ericson, who joined the company in January, is also acting as interim president of FNet, Franklin’s Internet network subsidiary.

“Phil possesses the vision, energy and leadership qualities to transform Franklin into a more significant player in the fast-growing [Internet] telephony arena,” said Frank Peters, Franklin’s chairman and chief executive. “Before joining Franklin, Phil was responsible for developing several telecommunications and high-tech start-ups into successful, highly valued entities.”

Franklin makes high-speed equipment to allow the transmission of data, voice, fax and video over the Internet.
