No Layoffs Expected in Magellan Merger

A German company said Tuesday that it will merge with Magellan Software Inc., an Irvine Internet Web content management company, for an undisclosed price.

Gauss Interprise AG in Hamburg said in a press release that it will base its U.S. operations in Irvine. All employees are expected to be retained after the merger.

Ronald M. Vangell and Edward R. Malley, Magellan’s present managers and primary shareholders, will manage the U.S. business. Loreli A. Trippel, who has managed the business for Gauss Interprise Inc., will work on strategic partnerships.
