Ice Dogs Lose Opener, 3-1

CHICAGO —
Glen Featherstone’s goal at 15:19 of the second period was the difference as the Chicago Wolves defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 3-1, in the opening game of their Western Conference semifinal Wednesday night.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven Turner Cup series is Friday night.
Featherstone’s goal came only 1:05 after Alexei Yegorov had tied the score for the Ice Dogs. Steve Maltais’ power-play goal gave Chicago a 1-0 lead.
