This album, originally intended to be the first release from the rap supergroup of Master P, Mystikal and Silkk the Shocker, is instead a compilation that focuses on a number of up-and-coming No Limit rappers. Master P, Mystikal and Silkk deliver strong performances on the 23-song collection (due in stores Tuesday), but their time on the microphone is limited by the album’s attempt to jump-start the careers of such upstarts as Krazy and D.I.G.

Unfortunately, neither can compete with Mystikal’s bombastic delivery and Silkk’s confident raps. Other low-profile No Limit rappers such as Mac and Magic appear on many songs, adding an exciting tag-team element to the album even as their raps contribute little new to the well-worn topics.

Mystikal, on the other hand, shines on his three appearances because of his intensity and humor. The album’s stronger cuts cater to party-goers. The rowdy “Check ‘em” and the percolating single “Wobble Wobble” feature the type of easily chanted choruses that become anthems. Carlos Stephens and others provide solid production, which varies from dance-inducing to intimidating.
