Tribune, Times Mirror Looks at Sale of Unit

Publishing and broadcasting group Tribune Co. and Times Mirror Co., which have agreed to merge, said they are exploring the sale of Times Mirror’s Jeppesen unit, a provider of flight information services. Merrill Lynch has been retained as the financial advisor. Jeppesen, which generated about $235 million in revenue in 1999, provides print and electronic flight information services, including computerized flight planning, weather and navigation data, maintenance information, pilot training systems and supplies.
