New Century Financial’s Earnings Down

New Century Financial Corp., an Irvine specialty home finance company, said Friday it earned $7.3 million, or 38 cents a share, for the first quarter, down from $9.8 million, or 55 cents a share, earned in the same quarter last year. Quarterly revenue grew to $60.4 million from $54.2 million.
