$50,000 Reward Offered in Post Office Holdup
The U.S. Postal Service offered a $50,000 reward Monday for information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in the holdup of the main post office in Rosemead on July 7.
The robbery at 8845 E. Valley Blvd. occurred about 4:30 p.m., said Terry Thome of the Postal Service.
After standing in line for a teller, a bandit passed a note indicating that he had a gun. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he ran to the parking lot and sped away in a car driven by a second man.
The first man was described as white, 25 to 30, 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and a slender build. Witnesses said he was cleanshaven, had large ears and wore blue jeans, a purplish-blue sweatshirt over a white T-shirt, white tennis shoes, sunglasses and a New York Yankees baseball cap.
The getaway vehicle was described as a late-model, lavender-colored four-door with gold trim, possibly a Toyota.
